The Project
The Righi marks Camillo’s foray into the luxury residential space. We have long been synonymous with high-quality apartments, commercial towers, and multi-residential builds, but through The Righi, we take a bold step in constructing a customised, one-of-a-kind bespoke family home.
Setting the Scene
Nestled between Ivanhoe East and Heidelberg, Eaglemont is a picturesque enclave with artistic and architectural heritage. Originally known as Mount Eagle, the prestigious garden suburb was master planned by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin – visionary designers behind some of Australia’s most iconic spaces. The area has long been a hub for the country’s most famous impressionist artists, and The Righi continues this legacy by bringing a new level of architectural craftsmanship to the neighbourhood.
The Brief
A home designed for generations: the vision for The Righi is to be a family residence that accommodates and caters to the changing needs of its inhabitants. Designed to evolve alongside the children as they transition into their teenage years, The Righi is more than a place to live – it’s a space designed for play, relaxation, and connection. To achieve this, the house will be thoughtfully customised to meet the specific preferences of its owners and their young family, resulting in a unique home that deviates from the typical designs commonly found in the area.
The Inspiration
To be in harmony with the environment: The Righi seamlessly blends nature and design – incorporating natural materials like concrete and timber boards – to evoke the feeling of warmth and a sense of organic synchronicity. The earth-inspired structure balances form and function, with elements carefully chosen to create a visual and tactile connection to its surroundings, making the residence feel both contemporary and timeless.
Luxury Defined
For Camillo, luxury isn’t just about high-end finishes – it’s about creating an environment that not only elevates daily life; but provides an escape to the everyday. Every space has been designed with purpose. For the children and their friends, the home becomes a personal playground, featuring a multipurpose sports room for ball games as well as a dedicated gymnastics space. For the adults, the home is equally indulgent, with a private wellness area complete with an infrared sauna and a sophisticated formal lounge ideal for entertaining. This dual-purpose approach ensures that the home can function as both a sanctuary and a social hub, reflecting the evolving lifestyle needs of modern families. At The Righi, luxury is defined by the experience.
Luxury Highlights
The standout feature of The Righi is the infinity edge pool, where the traditional glass barrier has been removed in favour of a seamless transition that makes the water appear to flow effortlessly into the backyard. The result is a striking visual effect, enhancing the sense of openness and tranquillity, and connecting the pool with the surroundings.
The most unique aspect is found in the basement: a rumpus room space that is cleverly designed to connect with the pool above. This allows natural light to flood into the lower-level basement, capturing the shimmering light refractions and gentle movement of the water dancing across the walls. The thoughtful architectural choice transforms the basement into a vibrant, engaging space rather than a dark and forgotten area.
The Outcome
The Righi is more than just a family home. It is a statement of architectural excellence and thoughtful design, setting a new benchmark for bespoke living in Eaglemont. This home stands out as a truly customised design that reflects the unique lifestyle and aspirations of its owners, and it will stand proudly as a project that contributes to the next generation of families moving into the area. The Righi represents our expansion into the world of luxury residential construction, and our commitment to innovation, quality, and the creation of homes that elevate the lives of those who live in them.
